The movie depicted the book of exodus and the life of Moses in the most beautiful and stunning hand-drawn animation. Even in the very beginning of the movie, both music and the animation combined can make you feel overwhelmed. The sheer scale of the monuments and the pea-like sized people can give you a sense of how large it is. People might think that this movie is about believing in God. It is, but its so much more than that. Each scene has its own meaning, has its own musical numbers. Example, the song “deliver us” Is about the slaves praying for their god Elohim to send someone to bring them to the promised land. Each of every character’s voice were performed with the emotion. But I believe the voice actor of Ramses did an exceptional job. Ralph Fiennes suits the Ramses and gave me an impression of a cruel, power-hungry, corrupted, Character.The film doesn’t shy away from showing us dark themes/scenes. This is one thing that Most DreamWorks or Disney films don’t show to its audience at that time. The movie makes it known to us that pain and suffering exist on the people in the movie. From the slaughter of adolescent, to the slavery of the Hebrews, the film makes it clear that the movie is not for children. Overall, the musical composition, artistic feats, Voice acting, Uniqueness of its time made it stand out for some people. It truly is one forgotten masterpiece.
